CHARITY ISLAND DINNER CRUISES

Dinner Cruises to Charity Island aboard the 50 ft. passenger Ferryboat "Northstar" will be running all summer begining Mid June. Our 2010 schedule will be posted in Mid April and If you would like to receive our schedule via email when it is posted, sign up to be on our mailing list and we will also notify you of specials being offered on our dinner cruise packages.

Dinner Cruise tickets may be purchased at Northport Travel Center in Au Gres. The cruise will depart from NorthPort Marina at 1500 hours (3pm) for the 75 minute trip to Charity Island. Guests should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure. Ice coolers are available aboard the vessel for guests who choose to bring beverages for the crossing.

Once the "Northstar" is moored in the Charity Island Harbor, passengers will take a scenic stroll along a forested path to the LightKeeper's House. Comfortable footwear is strongly advised.

Once guests arrive at the Lightkeeper's home, guests will be greeted with a delicious dinner of Great Lakes perch or sirloin tips. The return trip will be timed to coincide with the sunset aboard the "Northstar" enroute back to Au Gres.

Imagine savoring a meal of Lake Perch as you look over the water. Chances are you will observe cargo ships and freighters as they make their way to distant ports. As a warm breeze brushes past you, for a moment you are transported back in time. You can envision the watchful eyes of Lightkeepers from years past, and know that this has been a dining experience!

Now! Day Trips

Day Trips are now available to Charity Island.  If you wish, bring along a boxed lunch to enjoy, or you may purchase snacks and beverages on the boat.  You will get 1 hour 20 minutes on the island with this trip versus 3 hours with the dinner cruise. The tour of the house is not given typically on the day trip. You will receive a 15 minute narration on the history and chance to walk down to the beach to take pics of the rare "Pitchers Thistle".
