 Anchor Creek Elk Ranch & Thunder Bay Golf & RV Resort, located near the rural Northeastern Michigan Village of Hillman, offer the unique combination of a quality trophy elk hunt in a full service resort atmosphere, From the time you check into your very own chalet overlooking Thunder Bay Golf Course, until you've bagged your bull and headed for home, you will be provided with a perfect blend of special attention and top of the line service. The focus of the Anchor Creek hunting program is the quality of our trophy bulls. It is common knowledge that genetics, nutrition, and age are the three factors that determine antler development. Anchor Creek Elk Ranch has a top quality genetic and nutritional program. Our hunts generally feature bulls that are 7 years of age and older, allowing them to reach maturity and their full genetic potential. Under five percent of hunts in the western U.S. yield bulls that score as highly as even our lowest category of trophy animals. Occasionally, truly world class bulls grossing over 400 B&C points will be available. Any bull harvested at Anchor Creek will make a truly exceptional addition to anyone's trophy room. The quality of your Anchor Creek hunt package doesn't end with the quality of your trophy. You'll also be impressed with our outstanding accommodations, home-cooked meals and service. Start your day with a deluxe breakfast prepared by your guide while going over the details of the day's upcoming hunt. At daybreak, you'll feel the excitement building as you depart for your hunt at Anchor Creek Elk Ranch a short trip across the Thunder Bay River and through the resort's winding forest trails. The day can be spent stalking your trophy on foot through the widely varying, densely wooded terrain of the ranch, or bugle him in. Upon harvesting your trophy, photographs will be taken to record the memorable moment as we celebrate your success! Your bull will be scored and field dressed. Caping, meat processing, and taxidermy services can be arranged for additional fees. After the hunt, warm your bones by the fireplace or relax in the whirlpool tub at your chalet & prepare for the very special dinner to be served. If you've had early success on your hunt, you'll get a chance to enjoy the many other seasonal activities offered at Thunder Bay Resort at no additional charge. In September or October you can enjoy the challenging and scenic layout of Thunder Bay Golf Course. Schedule our famous Elk View Carriage Ride, Gourmet Dinner & Wine Tasting and experience for yourself the event that has kept our customers raving and returning year after year. Maybe you would prefer to go fishing in our stocked pond, on the Thunder Bay River or at nearby Fletcher Floodwaters. In the winter season, we offer cross-country skiing, ice skating, and ice fishing as well as direct access to Northern Michigan's immense network of groomed snowmobile trails. Our standard hunt package includes two days of hunting and resort activities and two nights of lodging. There is no charge for a 3rd day of hunting if needed. Non hunters are welcome to stay with you in your chalet at an additional cost of $150.00 per day, including meals and all available resort activities offered for the given season. Hunting dates begin on September 1, and run through March 1. Only one hunting party (usually just one or two hunters per party) will be booked for any given date to ensure you of our undivided attention.
